  • SILEO AND AURORA PRESENT ENERGY EFFICIENT HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SOLUTION FOR ELECTRIC BUSES

    Under the lead of their Dutch subsidiary HEAVAC, Aurora developed a new heat pump system that solves the heating and air conditioning challenges in e-buses and so significantly improves the range. This system has been integrated into the second e-bus generation by German e-bus manufacturer Sileo, and will be presented at the Busworld trade fair in Kortrijk, Belgium, in October 2017.

  • SILEO RESTARTS AFTER FIRE – SHORTLY BACK TO BUSINESS AS USUAL

    29 August 2017: Two days after a fire destroyed a factory hall of e-bus manufacturer Sileo in Salzgitter, all efforts are made to fully restore production soonest. The first steps are already being implemented while experts are still investigating the causes of the fire. In the night from Saturday to Sunday, an extensive fire had destroyed a factory hall and the adjacent administration block. Neighbours were not affected.

  • SILEO GMBH TO CONTINUE PRODUCTION AFTER FIRE

    Founder Murat Bozankaya is convinced that orders can be fulfilled as soon as possible: „Due to the strong demand both from the domestic and the international market, we had already worked on an expansion of our facilities. Those plans will now be implemented immediately, and we will also use our capacities in Turkey. We are already in touch with all clients and interested parties.“

  • FIRE AT E-BUS MANUFACTURER SILEO (SALZGITTER)

    PRODUCTION TO CONTINUE - A fire in the night from Saturday, 26 August 2017, to Sunday, 27 August 2017, destroyed large parts of the Sileo manufacturing and administration facilities in Salzgitter. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is currently investigated by the fire department.

  • 10 SILEO E-BUSES FOR HAMBURG

    The Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg Holstein GmbH (VHH), the group that operates the bus transport for Hamburg and the adjacent municipalities, have announced the purchase of 10 e-buses from Sileo GmbH in Salzgitter.

    E-mobility in local public transport: In connection with the introduction into service of three e-buses in Salzgitter and the surrounding area, around 50 visitors from the political and business arenas came to the works of the manufacturer Sileo to discuss developments and financing concepts in e-mobility in local public transport.

  • SILEO SUPPLIES FIRST E-BUS TO SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN (only available in German)

    Local public transport on the largest of the North Frisian Islands has become more electric. After a long trial phase, the transport company of Sylt (SylterVerkehrsgesellschaft, SVG) has decided to acquire an e-bus from the German manufacturer Sileo. This S12 e-bus is now an integral part of regular services and is making public transport more environmentally friendly.

  • E-BUS MANUFACTURER SILEO IS AWARDED MAJOR CONTRACT BY ASEAG (only available in German)

    The largest fleet of e-buses in Germany will soon be in service in Aachen. Between 2016 and 2018, the transport company of Aachen (ASEAG) is adding thirteen S18 articulated buses and one S24 bi-articulated bus to its fleet. Following on from orders from Bremen and Sylt, Sileo has now been awarded the biggest contract in the company’s history so far by ASEAG – this represents a particular milestone in the area of e-mobility in local public transport.

  • SILEO SUPPLIES THE FIRST E-BUSES TO THURINGIA (only available in German)

    Bad Langensalza: Two e-buses from the Salzgitter-based manufacturer Sileo will soon be in service in this spa town as the first battery-powered buses in the state of Thuringia. The two 10.7 metre-long e-buses for scheduled services will help to make public transport in the town more sustainable thanks to their low pollutant and noise emissions.

  • LOWER SAXONY’S MINISTER FOR ECONOMIC AFFAIRS TAKES A TEST DRIVE AT SILEO (only available in German)

    The e-bus manufacturer Sileo showcased itself to Lower Saxony’s Minister for Economic Affairs Olaf Lies, the mayor of Salzgitter Frank Klingebiel and member of the state parliament Stefan Klein with a test run of the S18 e-bus.

  • SILEO SUPPLIES SIX E-BUSES TO THE MUNICIPAL UTILITY COMPANY IN BONN (only available in German)

    Buses supplied by Sileo GmbH have already been undergoing trails on the route network of the municipal utility company in Bonn since January 2016. A total of six e-buses are now in service in and around Bonn today at the time of the launch event of the ZeEUS project. These Sileo e-buses will demonstrate their practical applicability and cost-effectiveness in service in a public transport fleet for the first time in Germany.

  • KOMMUNE MOBIL - ISSUE: AUTUMN 2016 (only available in German)

    At first glance, the Sileo S12 looks like a normal bus – but it isn’t! After all, the vehicle has neither an exhaust nor a fuel cap for diesel. Instead, it has two huge battery packs on its roof. Since April, six of these electrical buses have been in service on almost all lines operated by the municipal utility company in Bonn (SWB).

  • SILEO - OMNIBUSSPIEGEL | MARCH 2015 (only available in German)

    The municipal utility company in Bonn is testing the Sileo S12 on its number 607 scheduled service for around five weeks. The first prototype with a length of 12 metres is being used here. This particular line was picked because its route is very demanding and the test results obtained would thus be particularly meaningful.

    This 10.7 m-long Sileo has three doors and is driven by a ZF electrical axle. All high-voltage components are located on the roof. Sloped bodywork around the perimeter of the roof ensures a pleasant aesthetic design for this bus.

    The 10.7 meter-long Bozankaya-TCV Sileo has an empty weight of 12,200 kg, which makes it around 1,200 kg heavier than the corresponding diesel version. The lithium yttrium ion batteries are located on the roof, and the covering here is still being modified.
